In this case, Himansu, an Indian who got a job at Meta, is one of the more than 11,000 employees who have been laid off. Himansu was fired two days after he moved from India to Canada for a Meta job.
Regarding this, Himansu said in his LinkedIn section, ‘I moved to Canada to join Meta. 2 days after joining the job I also got hit with a massive layoff and my journey came to an end. I have no idea what awaits me next. Please let me know if there is any software engineer job in Canada or India.”

Similarly, a Meta female employee who is currently on maternity leave expressed her grief that she was among the dismissed employees. Anneka Patel, a Meta employee, posted that she woke up at 3am to breastfeed her three-month-old daughter and was checking emails about layoffs when she got an email at 5:35am saying she too had been laid off.
