An infertile cancer survivor becomes a mother after a friend offers to surrogate her

A Marissa Smith30-year-old diagnosed with cancer reproductive at 25 and, despite 17 operations and three years of IVF with her husband, was unsuccessful. In her attempt to find an alternative, she came across the instagram of Ariel Taylor, a woman she had been pregnant mother on three previous occasions.

Marissa and Ariel began to bond and feel wrapped up in each other. That’s when Marissa wanted propose that she be the surrogate mother of his baby. Now, Ariel is 25 weeks pregnant of Marissa’s baby, conceived through IVF with Marissa’s husband’s sperm and Marissa’s egg. He is scheduled to be born on July 9.

Marissa revealed that they’re “thrilled” but it hasn’t always been easy: “I’m still processing my trauma from my fertility issues. Even if this is finally going well, it doesn’t take away the pain we’ve been through up to this point.”
