Berck-sur-Mer (Pas-de-Calais) resumes, Saturday April 23, after two years of absence due to Covid, with the International Kite Meetings. A spectacular festival, where monumental creations soar into the sky, under the dumbfounded gaze of nearly 600,000 spectators, expected until May 1st.

It’s a strange zoo in the sky of Berck (Pas-de-Calais). Bears, a whale, a giant caterpillar… After two years of Covid, the International Kite Meetings are back with their magic. The kite, more than a children’s game, is a family passion, for amateurs like Léonie, 8 years old, who is still groping. And for the more experienced like Benoît and Valentin Martinet. The son is European champion in the discipline. A virus transmitted from an early age.

400 practitioners from all over the world came to the high mass of the kite, Saturday, April 23, a pride for the organizer of the event. “The kite flyers say that if you haven’t participated in the International Kite Meetings at least once, you have missed your life as a kite flyer”, he says with a smile. 600,000 visitors are expected over 10 days, until May 1st.
