The prosecutor’s office of the city of Nanterre opened an investigation on Thursday, August 28 after the disappearance of a Rwandan athlete. Sitting volleyball player and even masseuse, we haven’t heard from her since August 20.

According to a police source, on August 20 around 7 pm, this Olympic volleyball athlete, who is also a masseuse on the Olympic team of Rwanda, left the camp of Courbevoie (Hauts-de-Seine) where his representatives agreed to go to the restaurant. You never came back. His disappearance was reported on Tuesday August 27 at around 1pm by Theogene Uwayo, president of the Rwanda Olympic Committee.

This investigation was opened after a report was made to the Saint-Ouen police station, this source explains further. François Nkulikiyimfura, the Rwandan ambassador to France, was also informed about these facts and went to the site in Courbevoie, added the police source.

Monday August 26, at the headquarters of the delegation, François Nkulikiyimfura appeared next to the athletes of the volleyball team. After one of them went missing, the ambassador advised the President of the Council to report his disappearance at the police station. A general call was issued to local and Parisian assemblies. The directorate of public order and reporting (DOPC) has been notified.

The sitting Rwanda football team will tomorrow start its competition with a match against the Brazilians, the bronze medalists at the Tokyo Paralympic Games.
