Tehran: Iranian warplane crashes while patrolling the border. Iran’s F-14 fighter jet crashes. The Iranian military said two pilots on board were injured. The military says the warplane was technically damaged and the pilots were trying to land safely.

The pilot also tried to land the plane shortly after it crashed. However, a military spokesman for Isfahan province, Rasool Mottamedi, told reporters that the two men escaped by parachute after being unable to land safely and sustained serious injuries.

This is the second such incident in Isfahan province in a month. Months ago, Iran’s F-7 training aircraft crashed, killing two Air Force personnel.
