Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: The Iraqi scientist, professor of geology at the University of Baghdad, Saleh Awad, predicted that new earthquakes would occur on October 10, hitting the Iraqi-Iranian border and northern Syria.
Awad said that the situation is difficult and unstable for the Arab and Asian countries until next October 10, as well as for the Arabian Peninsula, Iraq, and northern Syria.
He added that northern Syria represents the northeastern part of the African plate and an earthquake may occur, noting that the voltage on these plates in these areas is high.
He stated that an earthquake or earthquake might occur on the Iraqi-Iranian border, confirming that a mild earthquake occurred on Sunday in the city of Kirkuk in northeastern Iraq.
The Iraqi scientist explained the causes of the Moroccan earthquake that struck the city of Marrakesh with a magnitude of 7 on the Richter scale, based on planetary theory. He explained that Morocco is a wide geographical area located on the northeastern edge of the African plate.
He added that the African plate is highly active, as was proven by the Moroccan earthquake, stressing that the Moroccan plate is moving by virtue of its location.
He went on to say that the Mediterranean Sea is in a state of closure according to the movement of the African plate towards the north and the European plate towards the south, in addition to the American plate and the Caribbean plate to the west, as they move and collide with the African plate.
He stressed that this momentum is caused by the gravitational effort that is trying to obstruct the Earth’s rotation and it will not stabilize easily.
He concluded his speech by saying that the earthquakes that followed the great earthquake in Morocco are not a release of energy as was rumored, but rather a continuation as a result of the instability of the panels and the gravitational effort, and they may be repeated in the coming periods.
