Roman Brodecki, 41, was killed today (Monday) by gunfire in the city of Bila Tsarkava south of Kiev while in a convoy of vehicles on the way to the border with Moldova. As far as is known at the moment, several bullets were fired at his vehicle at a Ukrainian checkpoint and not by a Russian force.

Well, Brodecki’s father told News here: “He was on his way to Moldova with more vehicles. At the checkpoint they thought they were Chechens and shot them. That’s what I was told, I do not know exactly what happened to him.” Brodecki has lived in the Ukraine for the past two and a half years, worked for Jay and owned a digital marketing company.

In a conversation the father had with Maria, Roman’s partner, he asked her to bury his son in the country, and she refused. He told her: “I will not be able to get to Ukraine, you see what is happening in this fucking country. Come back to me later.” Maria replied, “If I stay alive.”

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said: “I am saddened to receive the sad news of the death of Roman Brodsky, an Israeli citizen, in Ukraine. On behalf of all Israeli citizens, I would like to send condolences to the late Roman’s wife, children and family, in Israel and Ukraine. We continue to do everything we can to help Israelis return home. “

Foreign Minister Lapid said: “I would like to send my condolences to the family of the Israeli citizen who was killed in Ukraine. The Foreign Ministry will continue to assist the family as much as possible in this difficult time.”
