According to the data of the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the loading of tankers with oil products at this place has been suspended indefinitely.
“This facility was used by the aggressor state for military purposes in order to support the execution of the genocidal war against Ukraine,” UNIAN quoted HUR as saying.
Ukraine has been attacking Russian oil refineries for months. The chairman of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Vasiliy Maliuk noted that due to the strikes of Ukrainian drones on Russian oil refineries, oil production and processing in the Russian Federation decreased by 12 percent.
The US-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW) noted that the recent attack by Ukrainian drones on an oil refinery in the Republic of Tatarstan shows a shift in Ukraine’s strategy and an increased ability to strike targets deep inside Russia.
British intelligence is convinced that Russia is unlikely to be able to protect all its oil refineries from Ukrainian drone attacks. These strikes are causing financial losses to Russia and affecting the domestic fuel market. Meanwhile, the overhaul of the facilities, which will be delayed due to anti-Russian sanctions, may take time.
