An old woman who donated 52½ cents of land to the government to build a crematorium

Mudhati Thenammai, its owner, donated 52½ cents of land in Tiniyampatti panchayat to the government for setting up an electric cemetery in Pudukottai district’s Ponnamaravaty municipality. He presented the bond to Collector Kavitaramu yesterday. He was honored by the Collector. The government officials were there then. A modern gas crematorium is to be set up at a cost of Rs 1½ crore at the site provided by the old lady.
