The exhibition entitled “An ordinary day…”, with important works of art of modern Greek painting from the Collection of Pavlos Spourelas and Eugenia Salla, is presented by the Municipal Art Gallery of Ioannina from February 20 to April 21, as part of the celebration of liberation of the Ioannina people.
Guided by the collectors’ gaze and instinct, the exhibition introduces representative works of the collection to the public, within a free narrative web, with the main body including works of performance art. Through the richness of the directions and styles of the works, the important scope of Neo-Hellenic painting in space and time is highlighted.
The exhibition presents 75 works, which outline the evolution of artistic creation from the middle of the 19th century. until today, where we can observe the main stations of modern Greek painting, but also the works of its most important representatives, namely: Hector Doukas, Sofia Laskaridou, (Doris) Papageorgiou, Vikendiou Bokatsiambi, Stathis Kosmas, Spyridon Vikatos, Thalias Flora-Karavia, Nikita Gryspou, Dimitris Tiniakou, Andreas Krystallis, Giorgos Drizou, Giorgos Vakirtzis, Yannis Tsarouchis, Nikolaos Xenos, Charalambos Potamianou, Antonis Kanna, Costas Malamou, Doras Boukis, Byron Magou, Yannis Migadis, Yannis Spyropoulos, Alekou Fassianou, Bentro Aslanian, Leandros Sp artiot .
