An exhibition of works by the talented theater and film artist Barbara Aslamazi, a teacher at the Apollon Kutateladze Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, is being presented at the QGallery in Baku with the support of the Georgian Embassy in Azerbaijan, Day.Az reports with reference to Trend.

The opening was attended by the Ambassador of Georgia to Azerbaijan Zurab Pataradze, heads of diplomatic missions, representatives of the public and culture, creative intelligentsia and youth.

Vice-rector of the Azerbaijan State Academy of Arts, People’s Artist Salhab Mammadov noted that the presentation in Baku is another cultural bridge between Azerbaijan and Georgia, emphasizing the originality of the exposition’s theme and the artist’s skill.

The head of the Zurab Tsereteli Museum of Modern Art, the curator of the exhibition Tamara Ksovreli spoke about the work of Barbara Aslamazi, whose exhibitions were successfully presented at various venues and as a production designer in projects. At the same time, Barbara’s paintings, filled with deep lyricism and charm, are rich in the light of a young soul expecting good from life.

The author of the exhibition, Barbara Aslamazi, expressed gratitude to the organizers of the exhibition in Baku, noting that it was a great joy for her to present a series of more than 20 paintings here.

“Who is this cute fat lady? This is a fictional character of mine – her name is Nora. I want you to love her and take care of her,” – this is how the talented artist introduced her creation.

In her paintings, her heroine Nora is a very active member of society, she protests against injustice, racism, fights for equality between people and other problems related to human rights. She has many images that she gets used to without losing her individuality. The feeling of connection with reality almost on a mental level determines the mood of Barbara Aslamazi’s paintings.

It’s easy to get to know the character Nora – she will be eagerly waiting for you in the QGallery until July 31 inclusive. Today, Nora voices the problems of many other people, and most importantly, she always has something to say. Come and we can assure you that you will not be able to help but become friends with her.
