Two planes, the first of the South Korean airline Korean Air and the second of the Icelandic airline Icelandair collided tonight (between Wednesday and Thursday) on the runway of Heathrow Airport in London, the capital of Great Britain.
No injuries were reported in the incident, but the airport said that emergency forces arrived at the scene and found that the passengers and crew remained safe and unharmed, and asked the other passengers arriving and departing to check whether their flight time had not been changed due to the incident, and whether it was still departing as planned. In general, there were no significant anomalies or changes in flights entering and leaving Heathrow.
Eyewitnesses to the accident said that apparently, the wing of the Korean Air plane scratched the tail of the Icelandair plane. Photos published on social media showed at least ten police cars and several fire engines near the two planes. The passengers were taken off the planes for safety reasons.
I’m on Korean Air plane that clipped an Icelandair plane at Heathrow – a passenger on the other side saw the incident told me the wing of our plane damaged the others’ tail.
