An unusual event in the Tel Aviv Marathon: The resuscitation operations were performed on a 30-year-old runner who collapsed this morning (Friday) near the finish line of the Samsung Tel Aviv Marathon.
MDA medics and paramedics deployed along the running track as part of medical security provided him with medical treatment and performed advanced resuscitation operations that included giving an electric shock from a device once (defibrillator).
MDA paramedic Daniel Goss who was at the finish line of the half marathon said: “Citizens called us to reach a runner who collapsed 100 meters from the finish point and we ran to him with medical equipment and a stretcher.”
“He was lying unconscious, with no pulse and no breathing and we immediately started life-saving medical treatment and advanced resuscitation operations that included giving an electric shock from a device (defibrillator) and after a few minutes of resuscitation his heart beat again. When his condition is serious and he is breathing. ”
