An unusual incident: a light civilian plane landed at the air force base

Civilian landing at a military base: A light civilian plane landed at the air force base in the north of the country – this is what the IDF spokeswoman said today (Friday). The pilot was supposed to arrive at the civil airstrip in Megiddo – and instead landed at the Ramat David base: “The incident will be investigated.”

The IDF spokesperson also stated: “A preliminary investigation shows that the flight was planned in advance and was monitored by the air control units. The plane was flown by a licensed Israeli pilot who was supposed to land the plane on a nearby airstrip, and accidentally landed on the airstrip on the base’s territory.”

The IDF added: “The base crews were rushed to the landing area, as well as police forces, who will interrogate the civilians who were on the plane.”
