Lhe mayor Ana Fuentes reported on the scope of the work carried out by the capital city council to optimize and strengthen public services in the municipality, actions framed in the 2023 Operational Plan of the Maturín Mayor’s Office.
In terms of weeding, the local president highlighted the incorporation of 637 people who are joining the work plan that will be developed in the 10 parishes that make up the municipality.
“Today together with the work team of the Maturín mayor’s office, we are reviewing the programming for the month of April of the 2023 Operational Plan, among the tasks is the weeding plan that has been carried out continuously. In the next few days we are going to incorporate the crews that total 637 people belonging to each of the parishes, for the fulfillment of the work days. In order to fulfill this task, we will provide the necessary supplies and materials for the maintenance of the public spaces of the parishes”, he highlighted.

Sources said that in the first days of April, crews made up of 37 people began the process of manual cleaning of the 21 pipes in the city, preparing the spaces for next May when the mechanized works for the sanitation of these areas begin. and minimize incidents that may arise in the next rainy season.
Swept
The mayoress of Maturín affirmed that sweeping and cleaning of curbs are carried out continuously in the city.
He also announced that the streets adjacent to the markets will be washed and disinfected three days a week to guarantee the sanitation of these crowded areas.
“I ask the people who use these spaces to keep them in a clean condition. Support the staff of the mayor’s office to maintain these places. We want people to commit to the municipality to clean up each of these spaces, ”he pointed out.
Street lighting
During this month of April, the Maturín mayor’s office will also be working on the maintenance, restoration and correction of public lighting failures in various sectors of the city.
“We are going to be working this week on the main avenue and sectors of Jusepín, restoring public lighting with the placement of 234 luminaires and wiring repair, placement of arvidal (guayas). In the same way, we began the plan to correct electrical faults in sections of Raúl Leoni and Bella Vista avenues, ”he reported.
Solid waste collection
In the same way, the mayoress of Maturín reported that they continue to work on the continuous collection of solid waste on the nine established routes.
“Despite the setbacks caused by the damage to two compactors due to an accident caused by the recklessness of some citizens, we have corrected the situation and today we report that the service is normalized on the nine routes established by the municipality. We take the opportunity to inform the community that actions that violate public property will be punished as established by law, ”he stressed.

During this week the Mayor’s Office of Maturín, complying with what was thrown at the work tables established between the People’s Power and the national, regional and local governments, begins the work of weeding, solid waste collection and provision of cleaning supplies in this community , in addition to providing care to social cases with the delivery of medicines for chronic diseases.
