“From Málaga to the world”, proclaims Ana Mena in one of her singles. Five years have passed since the publication of her album Index de ella, after which the artist from Malaga released her second studio album: Bellodrama. Through her 15 songs, Ana tells a story of love and heartbreak, a work in which she recognizes herself as a “suffering diva” as a result of influences ranging from Jeanette to Ariana Grande, passing through the folkloric ones she covered from little girl. The tour for this second album is taking him through a wide variety of venues, including those in the Region of Murcia. The singer will visit our country twice: this Saturday at the Antonio Ibáñez football field in Jumilla at eleven at night, and on Sunday within the Salt and Music cycle of San Pedro del Pinatar, at ten thirty at night at the local fairgrounds.

Bellodrama is your second studio album, how was this album born?

This album was born two years ago, when I found myself musically. Now my sound is more defined and I felt that I had things to tell; I felt that it was time. We have spent all these years looking for my own sound and now is when I felt myself the most.

How would you define it?

Bellodrama is a tribute to the pop that I like the most. By this I mean pop in all its variants, from the first song to the last you can hear that it is very eclectic. Also, taken live it can be a lot of fun, it has moments for everything: to jump, to dance, to get emotional. I define Bellodrama as the enjoyment of melancholy.

Bellodrama has been produced between spain e Italia, and inspired by many artists. What have they been?

I have been inspired by many songs and artists. I uploaded a list to networks that had inspired me for the album. In it they go from Katy Perry to Jeanette, passing through La Oreja de Van Gogh.

Although 15 songs make up the album’s tracklist, would you say that Slowly is the song that best sums up the album?

Slowly it is the most beautiful song on the album, by history and by sound.

Ballad, bachata and pop are some of the genres he plays. Don’t like to pigeonhole?

I don’t like being pigeonholed. Bellodrama is a pop record, in general, but I don’t know what I’ll do tomorrow. I want to be very free when it comes to making music, doing one thing one day and another the next. I don’t like labels, young people no longer have prejudices.

He has done several record signings with this new job. In a world where digital reigns supreme, are you glad that people are still buying records, still buying music?

We are very happy to sign. I love it, seeing people in person, they tell you what their rankings are and their reviews of everything they’ve heard. It’s more beautiful and exciting, just like when you do a concert.

The last few years have been hectic, how do you manage all this success?

I’m calm for now. There are moments of pressure, I have very self-demanding moments to a point that is sick. But I have a great team behind me, who are like my family, and there is also my own family. It is good and very important to surround yourself with people who tell you the good and bad things.

He has collaborated with Natalia Lacunza, Becky G and other artists. Is there a dream collaboration?

I have a lot. I couldn’t tell you one, but I would love to collaborate with Fito and Fitipaldis. It would be super random, but I would love it.
