Delegates from various State portfolios attended the Commission that analyzes the Report to the Nation of the President of the Republic, with the purpose of presenting the main activities carried out to meet the indicators and goals established in the National Development Plan 2024-2025.

Rodrigo Rojas, delegate of the Ministry of Energy and Mines, reported that, “exports from the mining sector, as of March 2024, have reached USD 754 million, being the fourth highest item of the national economy. While, regarding the energy sector, “nearly 94 million dollars have been invested in projects for the subtransmission and distribution of electric energy, to repower and create new extensions of the electric energy network throughout the country and, USD 16 million for the public lighting service.”

On the other hand, Holger Zambrano, delegate of the Ministry of Environment, reported on the goals that his State portfolio seeks to meet. “By 2025 we have established the remediation of 105 sources of contamination, wells and pools that the hydrocarbon sector has left during its operation.” “We also want to increase the recovery of materials and waste, by 2025, from 44.06% to 56.06%, to promote good production and consumption patterns and practices.”

“The Ministry of Environment has a budget of USD 46 million, of which approximately 21 million has been spent on actions to meet the goals described, meaning we have executed 49.9% of the total,” he said.

Katty Pazmiño, representative of the Ministry of Production, told the commission about some of the actions promoted to boost national economic development. “We signed agreements to provide 1,000 scholarships for productive schools aimed at small entrepreneurs, in search of strengthening rural economies,” she said.

He also pointed out that, “12 quality schools have been implemented for the training of business leaders with the participation of 17 thousand people, university talks have been given to more than 1,000 students to promote entrepreneurial culture and more than 1,700 technical assistance sessions have been provided to small business owners, with this same purpose.”

These and other actions carried out by the ministries invited to appear were known to the commissioners, for the preparation of the report on what was presented by the President of the Republic, in the context of his Report to the Nation.
