Approximately 17,100 employees of medium and large enterprises in Russia receive an official salary of over 1 million rubles. per month, according to a study by the analytical service of the international audit and consulting network FinExpertiza, which is at the disposal of Vedomosti. The calculations are based on data from 104,600 organizations from the public and private sector, obtained from Rosstat.
The current figure is equivalent to 0.06% of all employees of medium and large companies in the country, experts said. According to analysts, the number of such employees has grown by 51.5% compared to the pre-pandemic period. So, in April 2019, there were about 11,290 of them.
“It is important to emphasize that in this case, when calculating the number of the highest paid workers, one-off payments are not taken into account. And a significant part of the remuneration of overpaid top managers falls on one-time bonuses. Therefore, the real number of millionaire employees may be significantly higher than the declared 17,000 people, ”said Elena Trubnikova, President of FinExpertiza Global.
More than 60% of all employees of medium and large organizations with an official salary of 1 million rubles or more. are in Moscow – 10,400 people. Another 1,300 of them live in St. Petersburg, and 1,200 in the Moscow region. 300 of these workers are employed in the Krasnodar Territory, Sverdlovsk and Sakhalin Regions. About 270 “millionaire employees” were registered in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, more than 200 in Tatarstan, 150 each in Kemerovo and Chelyabinsk regions.
The largest number of those who earn more than 1 million rubles. per month, employed in the financial and insurance sectors – about 2900 people. 2,600 people work in the field of trade, 2,500 carry out professional, scientific or technical activities (this includes lawyers, analysts, engineers and other qualified specialists), 2,400 are representatives of manufacturing industries. Another 1,400 such employees work in the information and communications sector, which includes IT, telecommunications, media and content creation. In the sphere of culture, sports and entertainment, about 1000 millionaires are employed, mining – 850 people, construction – 700 people.
Earlier, analysts named the share of Russians with salaries over 100,000 rubles. per month. It amounted to 10.3%, which is equal to approximately 2.84 million people.
