Anand Mahindra, on his X page, has again shared the list of “toughest exams” in the world, with IIT JEE ranked second and UPSC exam ranked third.

While researching the difficulty level of the exams, Anand Mahindra came across an IIT graduate who had written the UPSC exam, and the IIT graduate told Anand Mahindra that the UPSC exam was very difficult. Anand Mahindra also said that this world ranking should be changed.

Anand Mahindra, who re-shared last year’s X record of The World Ranking, said, “After watching the film 12th Fail, I spoke to many youngsters about the relative difficulty of our entrance exams. One of them was an IIT graduate who was involved in starting a business but had also written the UPSC exam. He asserted that UPSC is much tougher than IIT JEE. I wonder if this is a commonly held opinion, at which point this ranking should be changed!” posted that.

The World Ranking site shares various rankings of countries, organizations and individuals. According to them, these are the top 10 toughest exams in the world.

Meanwhile, in 2022, a similar list was compiled by Erudera, an online academic search platform. This list estimates admission rates in IITs to be around 1 percent, making the IIT JEE the second toughest test in the world. More than 1 million candidates appear for JEE Main every year for around 11,000 seats in 23 different IITs, the report said. Preparing for this entrance exam requires an average of two years of continuous efforts.

According to the list, about 8-10 lakh candidates appear for UPSC CSE Prelims for less than 1,000 seats. The success rate ranges from 0.1 to 0.4 percent. Passing the second stage means you have to interview with a panel that assesses your personality, awareness and reasoning.
