by time news

Action, emotionActor Karthi’s style is to mix and match in all areas like humor and romance. He was introduced to us as Parutthiveera and now he has incarnated as Viruman and Vandiyadeva. When Vikadan invited him to the press meet event, he immediately said OK and attacked our question marathon. He got answers to everything in his very funny style. Their parade is here..!

“What kind of experience did “Viruma” give? What is the difference between Kumbaya Pandyan and Viruman?” – Sudarshan Gandhi

“After the release of ‘Kadaikutty Singham’, many theater people spoke to me. ‘It was only after the release of this film that the people of the village returned to the theatre. Sir, we would have closed the theaters if only ‘Kadaikutty Singham’ had not come. Muttiah sir told me this story when I was in the mindset that I could act in a village film. He was caught saying that ‘Father and boy will not be…I have thought of Prakashraj sir as father’. I also love villages. Most of my school days were spent in the village. When I was in eighth grade, I used to take the train in the afternoon. I don’t like traveling in first class. Sitting on the stairs of the train all night long and having fun is my favorite thing. If you go to town, Appuchi will be there. He will feed the cow. I will take care of cows and goats with him. I will name the baby chicks. After spending a lot of time with him, the village became very attached. Since the first film ‘Barudhi Veeran’ was a village story, the village was brought closer to the mind. This has some advantages. When you are ready to act, you don’t need to worry about looking in the mirror. ‘Viruman’ is back again. Viruman is the character who gives a ring to his father if someone hits him. Especially when Prakashraj sir is opposite, it’s fun to watch him pee.”

“You came into cinema to become a director. Why did you choose acting in the first place?”
– Sana

“I studied engineering. I finished my studies without knowing what I was studying for. I have worked in a garment company here. Work six days a week. I was getting a salary of four thousand rupees. But many people who studied with me went abroad. At that time, I was afraid of life, ‘If we stay like this, where will we go?’ Thinking of getting ahead in life, I decided to study M.S. I studied abroad. The graduation knot had to stay there for a year. When I was in America, my university had a film school. I studied there for one year. I saw many films in that school. I saw a movie called ‘Citizen Kane’. I did not sleep for a week due to its effects. I felt that a director was creating everything. I came to India with the intention of directing. As the success rate in cinema is very low, my mother was very scared when I chose cinema. I joined Assistant Director Mani Sarkar. When the opportunity came to act, he said, ‘I am going to act, sir. I went to the film ‘Paruthiveeran’ saying, ‘If it doesn’t work out, I will come back to you.”

“There is great anticipation when Delhi and Rolex will meet face to face. You are also the beginning of Lokesh Cinematic Universe. Are you ready for “Prisoner 2”? Krishna

“This should be asked from Lokesh. I don’t know how Lokesh designed “Prisoner 2”. Don’t start discussion yet. It was a surprise that my brother wore a Rolex character. After the Rolex debacle, everything changed in his style. I wondered how my brother would take such a decision to do a cameo in some films. He suddenly decided. Lokesh said that he has started writing the story of “Prisoner 2”. It was a good experience to film him too. There will be a lot of action sequences.”

“Could you tell me about the homework you did on ‘Cotton Veeran’?” – Krishna

I read ‘Gallikatu Ithikasam’ written by Vairamuthu to know the village life. Bharathiraja sir will have the feeling of watching a film. Then I used to watch the movie ’16 Vayathinile’ every day. No pants are worn during the shooting. I will not listen to English songs. I will stay in that village as long as possible. Not only my dialogue in the film but also the dialogue of all the people will keep running in my mind. Till the end, I was in the same mood without going anywhere outside the story. That movie affected me a lot. I cried for three months even after I climaxed. If you lie down, your eyes will be watery. It was only then that I heard that a lot of actors have gone to psychiatrists for advice after doing certain characters and not being able to recover from it. That’s what happens when you live with a character for a day.”

“B.Iranjit, Lokesh, H. Go somewhere in the graph of the directors who made the second film of Vinodnu Vekhu! Have you noticed this?”
– Tamilchelvan

“Very happy. The story each of them gave was very new to me. Reading the script of ‘Madras’ felt like a novel to me. Ranjith would have introduced that character by describing a character. As the characters are in the script, they will be the same in the film. After searching for auditions, he did a workshop for a month and went to shoot. I wondered if a story could be written on a wall. We would appreciate an Iranian movie with a sandal. Shouldn’t we appreciate such a story in our country? That story has been hammered for a year and a half without anyone acting. They just gave me ‘read this script’. Don’t give it to me. I took myself and inserted myself into it. That’s a character for an 18-year-old boy to play. I changed a few things for myself and included myself in it. Vinod, Lokesh, Sushendran, Muttiah sir are all like that. I liked their story so much that I made their respective films. Those films also turned out to be good films. It is their work. I get a lot of yelling from them.”

“How does it feel to keep doing the village roll?”
– Arvindraj

What is the role other than village and city? There is space. We will not get to that yet. There is no need for menakedam in the village rolls. But, city rolls should be fit. Everything from styling to look should be perfect. Apart from ‘Baiya’ and ‘Dev’, I have not done any other city films. It was the life we lived when we were chitchatting. But, we have to change from place to place in village Rollna, Thanjavur, Madurai. Because there are small differences in mannerisms.

“Vandiyathevan… is the kind of character who carries the historical work of ‘Bonniin Selvan’ on his shoulders. What did you think of playing such a character?” – Moorish

“I read a lot about Chola history. It is in the biographies of kings, I read it to know how people lived in those times. I spoke to the students of ‘Bonniin Selvan’. Many people who read it asked why they liked the character of Vandiyadevan. Kunta and Vandiyathevan met less. However, I asked my friend’s wife how they got along. They replied, ‘Chola country is important for both of them’. It was right. I heard and understood from everyone’s point of view. Then, Mani sir will set the required meter at the shooting spot. When I go to shoot a scene, I read how the scene will look in the book. If you have any doubts about Seth Mani, he will ask you ‘have you read the book’? Because, isn’t there a difference between a novel and a screenplay? Both are different formats. However, I will study for my understanding.”
