the dogs ‘Nai Shekhar Returns’ is about what happens when Nai Shekhar, who kidnaps and extorts money from his owners, goes to steal the dog that belongs to his family.
Vadivelu earns money by kidnapping dogs with the nickname ‘India’s First Dog Kidnapper’. Once, by mistake, he kidnaps his grandfather Anandraj’s dog, and through the events that follow, Vadivelu learns about his flashback and the disappearance of his family’s divine dog. After that, director Suraj has tried to comedically tell whether he escaped from Anandraj and rescued his family dog.
Vadivelu makes his stage debut with a set of opening shots from his popular films. Even though the old body language and acting all come together well, the character of Vaikaipoyal suffers as if caught in a Mantis storm as nothing written as comedy takes off. ‘They are my friends now; He entered the fray with the likes of Shivangi, Redin Kingsley, Maran and others as “Ithan N Trendu” and the comedy scenes followed the same old template without thinking of anything new. A familiar comedic dada role, yet Anandraj’s performance turns even the modest scenes into lively ones. The villain Rao Ramesh threatens in a few scenes and then becomes a joker and unites with Jyoti.
When Vadivelu returns, it is okay to think of getting down and dancing without looking at all the logic. But can we keep laughing?! Not only the screenplay but also the comedy scenes are written in a predictable manner. Though the Vadivelu-Reddin Kingsley combination makes for laughs at some points, it has to make a long jump over many bland comedies. Even though there is a playing eleven of Shivani, Muneeskanth, Thangadurai, Bala, Sachu, Raja Rani Karthi, Manobala, Ramar, the Test match is not even interesting in the film.
Santhosh Narayanan also gives comfort in the background music with the songs ‘Deesantana Aalu’ and ‘Appatta’. Cinematographer Vignesh Vasu and cinematographer Selva RK have nothing new to do in the film.
Viral people were caught and cast in shifts, but the old firecrackers in the name of comedy script exploded, so there was no sound of laughter.
