The recently injured ex-world champion Toni Kroos will be available again for his club Real Madrid in the quarter-final second leg of the Champions League at Chelsea.
“They will play on Tuesday,” said coach Carlo Ancelotti of Kroos and Brazilian Vinicius Junior, who were missing from the squad in the 2-0 Primera División win at FC Cádiz. “They couldn’t play because they had problems,” said the coach, explaining why he didn’t want the regular players.
The Spanish football champions go into the game in London on Tuesday (9:00 p.m.) with a 2-0 lead from the first leg and have a good chance of reaching the semi-finals. The 33-year-old Kroos had shown a strong performance in the first leg. “They will train again tomorrow and be fully operational on Tuesday,” Ancelotti said of the recovery of the former Germany international and the Brazilian.
