Ancient Hebrew Bible up for auction

New York – The Codex Sassoon, the oldest manuscript of the Hebrew Bible, a cornerstone of Jewish and Christian faith traditions, is set to go on a world tour ahead of its auction. After showing in London, Tel Aviv, Dallas and Los Angeles starting next week, the auction will be held in New York in May. A rare 1,000-year-old historical document is the most complete Hebrew Bible version. 12 kg weight. There are 792 pages in animal skin.

Auction agency Satebee’s is expecting $3-5 million for Codex Sassoon. If it sells for $5 crore (Rs 413 crore), that too will become history. A codex is the book form of a manuscript.
