The Unions of Police Officers of Epirus express intense anger and indignation at the fact that a large number of police officers are ordered to move for a period of three months to Athens and Thessaloniki without being guaranteed accommodation expenses, since the amounts justified (30 euros per day), make it impossible to find accommodation.
“This fact is the result of the unprecedented in recent years – after memorandums – of a reduction in costs for the accommodation costs in the police stations, with the amendment voted on M. Wednesday, reducing the accommodation costs only for the police officers from the entire public sector to 30 euros per day from 80 euros (for specific combat and front-line Athens-Thessaloniki Services)”, the Unions of Police Officers of Arta, Thesprotia, Ioannina and Preveza state in their announcement.
At the same time, as they complain, it is ordered to deploy a significant number of vehicles again, which, together with the huge and unprecedented number of police officers, who have been deployed to Attica since the beginning of the year, will now be absent from the policing part of the local societies, without any official or political agent dealing with what is happening in the Region.
“We would like to know if our local MPs agree with the police being the poor relative of the public, since it was only for him that the cost of daily accommodation was voted to be 30 euros, and what is their opinion about what is happening in the Ministry of Protection Citizen. Do they agree to the uncontrolled reinforcement of Attica, where approximately 50% of the police officers serve at the expense of the policing of the local communities in which they are elected?”, are the questions they ask and ends with the question of the 2,500 police officers who, from the floor of D.E.Th. the prime minister announced that they will be released from the official positions they currently serve.
