These American players are a unique breed, capable of waking up at the crucial moment and carrying a game to the wire, even when playing only the final five minutes. It’s unfair to the Serbs that Nikola Jokic, who dominated throughout, opted for team basketball initially but eventually succumbed when the United States finally put on a serious defensive showing and their star players stepped up.
