San Pedro Masahuat, La Paz. ANDA authorities announced that the institution, with holistic support, is building a new desalination plant on Las Hojas beach to provide the community with a drinking water service.

This would be the fourth desalination plant built by the current National Administration of Aqueducts and Sewers, to favor historically forgotten communities.

The first of the plants has been built on Isla Madresal, in Puerto El Triunfo, Usulután; the other two will be built on the beaches of San Diego (with funds granted by CABEI) and El Majahual, projects that have been developed since 2022, said the President of ANDA, Rubén Alemán.

By then, Alemán said that the future projection is to replicate the project in other parts of the country with similar characteristics and benefit more Salvadorans. The Las Hojas desalination plant thus becomes the fourth plant of this nature that ANDA has built in the country, to benefit the Las Hojas canton school and the community.
