There is an Andal temple in Srivilliputhur. Numerous people from all over Tamil Nadu visit this historic temple every day. The spring festival of the month of Chittirai is usually held for 10 days during the summer months at this temple. The festivities will be held at the Water Hall. In this case the festival has not taken place in the water hall for the last 40 years for a few reasons. So the Friday in the temple was held in the wreath hall. This year’s spring festival started yesterday. In turn 40 years later the temple administration decided to hold the spring festival in the usual manner i.e. in the water hall. Accordingly, Lord and Erangamannar got up in special attire in the water hall last evening. Following this, special pujas were held. Sami darshan was attended by a large number of devotees. Arrangements for this were made by Kovil Thakkar Ravichandran and Administrative Officer Muthuraja.
