The residence of the former Minister of Justice, Anderson Torreswas the target of an operation by agents of the IBAMA this Friday, the 24th. Torres, who is under arrest after alleged omission in the acts of January 8th, is kept at his home, located in a condominium in the Jardim Botânico region, in Brasilia, a bird breeding area. The inspection action is the result of an investigation that began in 2022 after the identification of inconsistent information in the Amateur Bird Breeding Activity Control and Monitoring System (Sispass). On that occasion, environmental agents from Ibama noticed that the marking of a bird kept by an amateur breeder was only listed in the system as a “ring”. When looking for more detailed information, the investigators found that the identification piece was under the responsibility of Anderson Torres, although the bird was kept by another breeder. According to Ibama, the analysis carried out at Sispass also revealed that the former minister had transferred all the stock he owned to his mother and that both would have exceeded the transfer limit established for amateur breeders. “Both reported the same address in their breeding records, also shared by a commercial breeder. This practice is prohibited by law,” the agency said in a statement. In this Friday’s action, around 60 birds kept at the breeding site were located, one of them with a mutilated paw. Ibama said that the inspection team applied assessments, embargoed the activity and determined, through a notification, that information be presented on animals registered in the system that were not found on site. Torres will respond for using animals in disagreement with the authorization obtained, for entering false data in the system and for mutilation. The action was carried out jointly with the Brasília Environmental Institute (Ibram). O Jovem Pan’s website sought the defense of Anderson Torres, but so far has not received a return.
