“Bergdoktor” star Andrea Gerhard is pregnant: she is expecting her first child with her partner David Wehle. The couple announced this on Instagram.
Andrea Gerhard is ready for a new role: The “Bergdoktor” actress is becoming a mother for the first time. The 40-year-old actress announced the news on Instagram on Thursday.
Gerhard shared two photos on her profile that show her with her partner and fellow actor David Wehle and their dog. A clear baby bump can already be seen in the pictures. The 40-year-old wrote about the photos that the two were ready “for our two leading roles in the upcoming blockbuster.”
Gerhard continues: “We’ll see whether it will be a wonderful film, a two-parter or a trilogy. In any case, a romantic comedy,” says Gerhard. “We are incredibly looking forward to all the challenges ahead. Be it private or professional.”
A lot has recently changed professionally for the long-time “Bergdoktor” actress. Andrea Gerhard portrayed the self-confident doctor’s assistant Linn Kemper in the television series with main actor Hans Sigl from 2019 to 2024. Its final episode aired in February 2024. A shock for Gerhard, after all, she had previously said in the t-online interview about the ZDF series: “For me, it’s an acting jackpot.”
In the interview, she also spoke about the discrimination she experienced. “I’m 1.85 meters tall and that sounds strange, but it’s actually a huge issue,” said Gerhard at the time. She “rarely fit in anywhere” and felt that too.
Now the 40-year-old is taking a break from filming for the time being anyway.
Gerhard’s child’s father David Wehle is also an actor and director: The Austrian was seen in the RTL series “Alles was counts”, among other things, and also played many roles in the theater.
