Google has released important updates for Android. This closes several, partly critical, security gaps. Users should act urgently.
The new security updates on the July patch day affect the currently supported Android versions 12, 12L, 13 and 14. Particularly dangerous are vulnerabilities in the “Framework” and “System” components. These allow attackers to locally expand their rights on a device, which can have far-reaching consequences.
Another gap in the “framework” only affects Android 12 and 12L. It is classified as critical. In addition, there are four other vulnerabilities in the system that are also considered high-risk.
Smartphone owners may have to wait a little longer until the update is available. If your device is still officially supported by the manufacturer, you can expect the update to be distributed in the next few days.
