Angelica Moser Finishes Fourth in Zurich Pole Vault, Just Shy of Podium

by time news

Angelica Moser missed the podium in the pole vault competition at the Weltklasse held in Zurich’s train station. The Zurich native finished in 4th place after clearing 4.77m.

In front of a supportive crowd, the Swiss record holder was eager to compete for victory but unfortunately failed at 4.82m. Her third attempt was not too bad, but her knees touched the bar.

Three women succeeded in conquering that height: Nina Kennedy, Alysha Newman, and Katie Moon, the three medalists from the last Olympics just ahead of Angelica Moser.

Stöcklin 6th

Only at 4.87m, only the Australian Olympic champion Nina Kennedy was able to clear the bar. Canadian Alysha Newman failed in all three of her attempts, while Katie Moon opted to keep two attempts at 4.92m after missing a jump at 4.87m.

However, this risk-taking did not pay off. Kennedy then attempted a height of 4.95m, which she narrowly missed. Also noteworthy from the Swiss side was Pascale Stöcklin’s 6th place with a successful jump at 4.52m.
