It seems that the actors’ dramas Angelina Jolie and her ex-partner Brad Pitt, refuse to subside. Now entertainment sites around the world are reporting that Angelina Jolie’s ex-boyfriend is suing Pitt for $250 million, for allegedly stealing their wine business from her. The lawsuit filed today by Nouvel LLC is a legal protest after Pitt sued Jolie, alleging she illegally sold her stake in Chateau Miraval, a French wine brand.
Jolie held her shares in the wine company through her company, Noble, but sold it to drinks giant Stoli last year. Noble’s filing alleges that Pitt tried to secretly transfer assets from the jointly owned business to his friends and other companies, spent “millions on vanity projects,” including $1 million on a swimming pool and a recording studio, and gave away half the amount.
The lawsuit demands compensation of at least 250 million dollars. Jolie’s ex-girlfriend claims Pitt’s alleged scheming means she will “never see a penny” of the “tens of millions of dollars” in Chateau Miraval profits. In retaliation for the divorce and custody proceedings, Pitt embarked on a years-long campaign to seize control of Chateau Miraval and appropriate the company’s assets for his own benefit and the benefit of his companies and friends,” the lawsuit states.
“When he appointed himself the legal owner of ‘Chateau Miraval’, his goals were to steal the value of Julie’s company and obtain exclusive ownership of ‘Chateau Mirval’.” Noble’s lawsuit claims that “since his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie, filed for divorce from him in 2016, Brad Pitt has waged a war of revenge against her,” and according to her, the lawsuit is intended to “seek compensation for the illegal and malicious actions of Pitt and his allies to harm in ‘Novel’ by devaluation of its investments”.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt (Photo: Reuters)The lawsuit says she wanted to sell him her half when they broke up, but Pitt allegedly tried to add gag clauses about their feud to the contract. “Pete knew that much of Jolie’s wealth and liquidity was tied up in Noble and used this fact to try to force Jolie to agree to his unreasonable terms,” it said.
She eventually sold Noble, including part of her wine company, to the international beverage company Stoli Group. The suit alleges that Pitt refused to work with the new owners and spread ‘lies’ that his owners, Yuri Sheffler is an ally of Vladimir Putin – when in fact the company sued the Russian government.
