News from Angola – The Angolan national team secured today, in Lubango, capital of Huíla, qualification for the African Nations Championship to be held in Côte d’Ivoire, from January 13th to February 11th, 2024, by drawing (0-0) against Madagascar and benefit from Ghana’s 2-1 victory against the Central African Republic (CAR).

In a match for the sixth and final round of Group B, the Palancas Negras were unable to convert opportunities into goals, even causing the ball to hit the post twice through Gelson Dala and Mabululu.

In six games played, the Palancas Negras scored nine points, occupying second place, the result of two wins, three draws and a defeat against the group champion Ghana with 12 points.

Below Angola were the teams from RCA and Malaga with seven and three points respectively.
Qualifying for the ninth time, the last time the antelopes participated in the main competition at the level of African teams was in 2019 in Egypt and they participated for the first time in 1996 in South Africa.
