The FIBA-Africa website that ANGOP consulted this Saturday states that group E is made up of champions Tunisia, Angola (5th place in the 2021 edition), Guinea and Kenya.
The Cape Verde team, ranked fourth in the last Afrobasket, held in 2021, in Rwanda, is in group B with Nigeria, Uganda and the winner of the qualifying rounds between Zones 1 and 2.
South Sudan, which surprisingly qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games, is in Group A, which has the DRC and Mali plus the winner of the qualifying rounds in Zone 6, Mauritius or Comoros.
Senegal, the 2021 bronze medalist, will face, in Group C, Cameroon, Rwanda and the winner of the Zones 3 and 4 pre-qualification tournament.
Côte d`Ivoire, the current silver medalist, is in Group D, which also includes Egypt, the Central African Republic and the winner of the pre-qualifications between Zone 5, Madagascar or Djibouti.
According to FIBA-Africa, games in groups D, B and E will be played in February 2024, while groups C and A in November of the same year.
