Angola prepares pan-African forum for culture of peace

Angola is finalizing preparations for the third Pan-African Forum for Culture of Peace and Non-Violence, taking place within the scope of the Luanda Biennale, said this Thursday, in the country’s capital, the spokesperson for the multisectoral commission, Neto Junior.

The aforementioned forum will take place from the 22nd to the 24th of November under the motto “education, culture of peace and African citizenship as tools for the sustainable development of the continent”.

Speaking at a meeting with journalists, the spokesperson highlighted that, from the 5th to the 18th of the current month, several activities were carried out in favor of the culture of peace, with emphasis on the audience granted by the president of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat , to the coordinator of the multisectoral committee of the Luanda Biennale and Minister of State for the Social Area, Dalva Ringote Allen.

The hearing took place on the 13th of the current month, in the city of Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia. The president of the commission confirmed the participation of the highest representatives of the African Union in the forum.

Neto Junior reported that the first ordinary meeting of the Steering Committee of the Pan-African Forum for the Culture of Peace was also held, made up of members of the multisectoral commission of the Luanda Biennale and the Commission for Political Affairs, Peace and Security of the African Union.

The event served to evaluate and adopt the conceptual note and program for the third edition of the forum.

The 3rd edition of the Luanda Biennial will take place at the Hotel Intercontinental and will feature a series of lectures, conferences and debates, as well as parallel events aimed at the private sector and academia.

Its purpose is to contribute to the construction and realization of an integrated, peaceful and prosperous Africa, in which its children take an assertive and supportive position in the economic and social transformation of the continent.

The 3rd edition will have the participation of more than 600 entities. LIN/OHA
