In protest against this brutal crime and the police action on protesting students on the eve of Independence Day, IMA has decided to shut down modern medical services for 24 hours from 17 August 2024 to 18 August 2024.
Health services collapse across Madhya Pradesh
IMA has said in its statement that non-emergency services will remain closed in all hospitals for 24 hours from 6 am, while essential services and casualty wards will remain operational. Apart from this strike, FORDA (Federation of Resident Doctors Association) has also announced a strike, which has made the situation even more tense. Doctors in Madhya Pradesh are also on strike in protest against this. In Jabalpur too, doctors are on strike in protest against the murder of a female junior doctor from Kolkata.
Doctors got angry
Doctors of IMA Jabalpur stopped the convoy of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav who had reached Jabalpur and went to meet him, but the Chief Minister did not get out of his car. The striking junior doctors wanted to meet the Chief Minister regarding their demands. When the convoy of the Chief Minister reached Jabalpur, the doctors wanted to stop his convoy and put forth their point, but the Chief Minister did not get out of the car. He took the memorandum while sitting in the car and moved ahead. The doctors got angry with this type of behavior of the Chief Minister towards the doctors.

Junior doctors of Madhya Pradesh are also angry about this incident in Kolkata and are protesting. When the CM reached Jabalpur late at night, they were waiting for two hours to meet him.
