FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Ustaz Hilmi Firdausi, owner of SIT Daarul Fikri and caretaker of the Baitul Qur’an Assa’adah Islamic Boarding School, gave his response regarding the fate of Anies Baswedan in the Jakarta gubernatorial election.
Ustaz Hilmi invited Anies and his supporters to accept the current situation.
“Mr. Anies Baswedan has accepted the offer. Hopefully, Abah’s son and all his supporters will also accept the offer,” said Hilmi in his statement on the X application @Hilmi28 (29/8/2024).
According to him, even though Anies no longer plays a role in the Jakarta gubernatorial election, there are still many other roles that the former governor of DKI Jakarta can take.
“God willing, there are still many other roles he can play. Btw, my advice is for him to remain as before,” he said.
Hilmi said that in Indonesia, a great person without a political vehicle would not be able to do much.
Therefore, building his own party is considered a strategic step for Anies.
“A great person without a political vehicle in this country will not be able to do much,” he said.
“Create your own party that is free from intervention and the shadow of the past,” he added.
Responding to potential difficulties that may be faced in establishing a political party, Hilmi is optimistic that accommodation and funding issues are not major obstacles.
“Regarding accommodation issues, etc., I think many supporters will be willing to chip in,” he said.
As is known, Anies Baswedan’s chances of running again as a candidate for Governor of DKI Jakarta are getting slimmer after PDIP decided to nominate its cadres, Pramono Anung and Rano Karno, as a candidate pair in the upcoming Jakarta gubernatorial election.
