jpnn.com – JAKARTA – The 2024 DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election is one of the strong magnets in this year’s simultaneous regional head election party.
Two names have been widely discussed, namely Anies Baswedan and Basuki Tjahaja Purnama a.k.a Ahok.
Now there is another one, namely Sandiaga Uno.
The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) indicated that he was more confident in competing in the DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election than the West Java gubernatorial election, even though there were at least two political parties that were pushing him to run in West Java.
“I am much more familiar with DKI (Jakarta), because I participated in the regional elections and served as deputy governor, but there has been no assignment (to run) in DKI, so be patient, wait for the assignment,” said Sandiaga at Gedung Sate Bandung, Sunday (21/7).
Regarding his name being pushed by two parties, namely PKB and PPP to advance in the West Java gubernatorial election, Sandiaga said that it requires hard work. This is because West Java is the largest province in Indonesia in terms of population.
“West Java is the largest province and really needs hard work. And the incumbent (Ridwan Kamil) himself has a good track record, and the results of various surveys show that the incumbent is very strong and favored here. As a cadre, I have not received any assignments from the party, including for West Java,” said Sandiaga.
With no assignment from the PPP yet, Sandiaga said he is now focusing on his duties at the ministry for the next three months to prepare his replacement.
