Washington:

Elon Musk, the world’s number one richest man, runs various companies. He owns Tesla, SpaceX, Twitter, Neuralink.

In this, the Neuralink Company announced that it is going to start an experiment to implant a ‘chip’ in the human brain and connect it to the computer and thereby have a direct conversation with the computer. Animals have been used in the experiment since 2018.

According to a report, around 1500 animals including sheep, pigs and monkeys have been killed in the experiment so far.

And current and former Neuralink employees confirmed that the animals were killed. They said that the experiments on the animals were done in haste and the animals suffered severe torture and died.

The killing of animals in experiments has been accused of animal welfare violations. Elon Musk’s directive to speed up research has led to more animal deaths than needed.

Following this, authorities have started an investigation against Neuralink under the Animal Welfare Act. Elon Musk and Neuralink have yet to comment on the issue.
