Animato Celebrates 80th Anniversary With Night of the Music Concert

Music association Animato marked its eightieth anniversary in Nistelrode by staging its eleventh Night of the Music production on October 25, 2026. The milestone concert combined fanfare arrangements, percussion groups, and vocal performances on a newly redesigned stage supported by community volunteers and local sponsors.

Generations of local musicians filled the venue as Nistelrode celebrated a major milestone for its primary music association. The eleventh edition of the concert series brought together starters and seasoned performers to share the spotlight, leaning on collective rehearsal and community backing to pull off a complex cross-genre setlist.

Eighty Years of Music Association Animato On Stage

The anniversary production showcased the breadth of local talent across the association’s fanfare and percussion ensembles. Solos from Stijn on trumpet and Sem on the harmonica added distinct textures to the evening, while the slagwerkgroep delivered a striking percussion performance that drew strong appreciation from the audience.

On the newly renovated stage, raised platforms improved visibility for performers of all ages. Younger musicians and veteran players worked side by side, easing nerves and coordinating complex cues under demanding stage lights.

Vocal Highlights and the Challenge of Barcelona

The evening peaked when Marga van den Broek took on the demanding vocal part in the opera-rock crossover classic Barcelona, originally performed by Montserrat Caballé and Freddie Mercury. Joined by René Habraken handling the Queen vocal lines and a supporting choir drawn from the ensemble, the performance required absolute precision.

Van den Broek delivered powerful, clear notes that carried above the instrumental arrangement, earning an enthusiastic response from the crowd. The production relied heavily on technical support, with HVR Show Equipment supplying lighting and sound systems to transform the venue into a temporary concert hall.

Three Years of Preparation Behind the Scenes

An event of this scale does not happen overnight. Organizers invested three years of planning, meetings, rehearsals, and adjustments to bring the anniversary edition to life. Volunteers and financial sponsors carried much of the load behind the scenes, ensuring the production remained viable despite climbing operational costs.

Visuals broadcast on large screens next to the stage were coordinated by Koen van den Bogaart alongside RWP Audio • Lighting • Video. While individual performers drew the immediate applause, the collective effort of organizers and technicians anchored the entire production.

Professional Video Recording Will Release on YouTube

For those unable to attend the live milestone event, producers prepared a professional video recording slated for release on YouTube. In the interim, initial atmosphere clips have been made available online to give viewers a glimpse of the staging and standout performances.
