Anker’s MindBase: A Smart Home Hub with AI and Local Storage
The MindBase functions as a Matter 1.5 controller, enabling compatibility with Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Home Assistant. It includes a 26 TOPS AI chip for real-time video analysis, dubbed TrueSmart Agent,
which identifies threats and triggers responses like lighting or verbal warnings. Anker emphasizes local processing, stating no personal data is sent to the cloud and no subscription is required.
The hub’s storage capabilities include 64GB internal flash storage and up to 48TB of additional hard drive space. Users can search files via natural language, and existing Eufy HomeBase S380 users can transfer footage.
AI-Powered Security and Recognition Features
The MindBase’s AI agent includes a DSKey digital credential
to recognize family members up to 30 meters away, though the exact mechanism remains unclear. The Smart Security Shield uses dual radar for 180-degree movement detection, while the Eufy Fall Detection Sensor employs mmWave technology to identify falls and initiate voice checks. Anker claims these features operate without subscriptions, a nod to past security controversies.
Product Lineup and Pricing Details
The company also revealed a $70 window camera and a fall detection sensor, though neither has a release date. Pricing for the MindBase itself remains undisclosed, with Anker stating it will launch later this year.
Anker’s previous Eufy models, like the S4, have faced scrutiny over encryption claims, but the company now highlights local storage and end-to-end encryption as key features.

The MindBase supports over 40 Matter device categories, including lights, sensors, and HVAC systems. With dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Thread, and Zigbee, the MindBase aims to unify smart home control. Anker plans to expand its AI capabilities, adding agents for home energy management and cleaning devices.
