Anne Heche is dead

The suffering is over.

US actress Anne Heche has died a week after being seriously injured in a car accident. This was now confirmed by the Guardian‘ referring to family.

It was only announced a few hours ago that life-support measures were being switched off.

Heche was 53 years old and had two sons – Homer (20) and Atlas (13).

A representative of the family told “ TMZ: “We have lost a bright light, a kind and cheerful soul, a loving mother and a loyal friend. We will miss Anne greatly, but she lives on through her beautiful sons, her iconic work and her passionate advocacy. Her courage to always stand up for her truth and spread her message of love and acceptance will continue to make a lasting impression.”

It had already become clear beforehand that Anne would probably not survive. Now it is sad certainty. Anne’s family wanted to wait until her last wish had been fulfilled before turning off the machines: the actress wanted to donate her organs.

“She has elected to donate her organs and remains on life support to determine if any are viable,” a family spokesman told People magazine. It is not known to what extent the organ donation was carried out.

On August 5, the ex-girlfriend of talk show queen Ellen DeGeneres (64) caused a serious car accident in Los Angeles. Her Mini Cooper crashed into a house wall so hard that it caught fire. It took almost an hour for rescue workers to extricate Heche from the burning car, but the actress suffered injuries so severe that she fell into a coma.

A blood test revealed that Heche had cocaine and fentanyl in his system. As a result of the crash, she also suffered severe anoxic brain trauma, as her family announced in a statement.
