The winners of the 2023 Youth Book and Press Fair Nuggets were announced at the opening of the fair on Wednesday November 29.

We will go through stormsthe family saga by Anne-Laure Bondoux and published by Gallimard Jeunesse, won the Golden Nugget at the 2023 Youth Book and Press Fair which opened its doors on Wednesday November 29. Butterflies in the night by Olivier Ka and Christophe Alline, published by Les Grandes Personnes, leaves with the Nugget illustrated book. That of Junior fiction was won by Ottoline and the monster vet (PKJ) by Yann Apperry and Laurent Gapaillard. The comic strip nugget went to Without panic (Delcourt) by Coline Hégron and that of teen fiction Oxcean by Nicolas Michel, published by Talents Hauts. The winners of the Nuggets, revealed late Wednesday morning, will receive their prizes on Sunday, December 3.

Bodies in motion

The Golden Nugget is awarded by a jury of literary critics including the president of the Salon du livre et de la presse jeunesse, Émile Bravo, as well as its director, Sylvie Vassallo. The Illustrated Book Nuggets, Junior Fiction, Comics and Teen Fiction are awarded by children’s juries. Among the 800 aged 8 to 18 who applied to join the juries, 36 were selected and deliberated by videoconference.

The 39th edition of the Children’s Book and Press Fair focuses on bodies in all their forms. Body tectonicsthe immersive exhibition offered by the show, allows children to be both in the heads of the four artists, who inspire them, and in the skin of their characters by rediscovering their movements.
