jpnn.com – NGAWI – The General Election Commission (KPU) of Ngawi Regency, East Java, has taken a special policy in response to the conditions that occurred during the 2024 Ngawi Pilkada.

The Ngawi KPU has decided to extend the registration period for prospective regent and deputy regent candidates.

According to Ngawi Regency KPU Commissioner Janie Triangga Luh Praminto, this step was taken because until the last day of the registration period, only one prospective candidate pair had registered.

The registration stage for prospective Pilkada 2024 candidate pairs will take place on 27-29 August 2024.

The local KPU has now extended the registration period from August 30 to September 1, 2024.

“Because until the last day, August 29, only one prospective candidate pair had registered, the Ngawi Regency KPU plenary meeting decided to extend the registration period from August 30 to September 1, 2024,” said Janie in Ngawi, Friday (30/8).

Meanwhile, one prospective candidate pair who has registered with the Ngawi KPU is the incumbent candidate pair Ony Anwar Harsono and Dwi Rianto Jatmiko (Ony-Antok).

The candidate pair is supported by all political parties in Ngawi Regency. Namely, PDIP, Demokrat, NasDem, Gerindra, PKB, PKS, PSI, Hanura and Golkar.
