(Owais Kayani) Federal Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi has announced plans to strengthen security along Margalla hiking trails in Islamabad, especially for foreign hiking enthusiasts.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi says that the purpose of the Margalla Trail Patrol is to protect the natural trails of the Margalla Hills, with special attention to the safety of foreign hikers.
He said that they are starting Margalla trail patrol to secure the beautiful trails of Margalla hills. Police trail motorcycles, police horses and soldiers will be deployed on foot patrol to further protect Margalla hiking trails for foreigners. .

It may be noted that in July last year, a woman resident of Sheikhupura filed a complaint with the Islamabad Police that she was raped at gunpoint by the accused Nauman on Margalla Hills Hiking Trail 3. A case under Section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) was registered at the Kohsar police station. The woman had also appealed for a medical examination to confirm her allegations.
Later, the Islamabad police accused the victim girl of not cooperating in the investigation process and said in a tweet that according to the plaintiff’s medical report, no evidence of rape was found.
