Oppo A77s launched back in October of 2022. This phone got a lot of positive feedback. And after seeing all this, Oppo decided to up its mid-range game in 2023. Now it’s back with the Oppo A78 5G, which will debut in Malaysia. Later, the device is expected to make its way to the Indian market.
However, the elephant in the room is whether the Oppo A78 5G is worth the money. Or is it just another mid-range device that doesn’t deserve any attention from you? Let’s find out.
Oppo A78 5G specifications
You will find a 6.56-inch IPS LCD display on the front of the device, which has an HD+ screen resolution. To keep up with the competition, Oppo decided to use a fast 90Hz panel for the A78 5G. This will definitely make the user interface look smoother.
Other than that, the front has an 8MP front camera. This sensor is located inside the notch of the water drop. And it should do a good job of handling all your selfie and video calling needs.
At the back, you have a two-ring design. This dual ring design of the Oppo A78 5G comes with a 50MP primary camera and a 2MP depth sensor.
And under the hood of the Oppo A78 5G, you have the Mediatek Dimensity 700 chipset. Oppo has paired the SoC with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Most importantly, there is a microSD card slot, which will allow for storage expansion.
You will be well surprised by the Oppo A78 5G battery life. It contains a 5000 mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. And when it comes to software, the phone comes with ColorOS 13, which is based on Android 13.
For those who are interested, the Oppo A78 5G will come in two colours: Glowing Purple and Glowing Black. The company has not yet announced official pricing. But we will soon be able to find out all about it on January 14, when it officially enters the Indian and Malaysian markets. In general, the phone’s specifications seem very solid.
