The Gulf Cup Federation revealed the schedule of matches for the first Gulf Soca Championship for six-a-side football, which will be held in the Omani city of Salalah with the participation of our national team, from the first to the fourth of next September.
Our national team will begin its journey in the tournament against the Qatari team on the first of next month, and then it will meet in its second match the host country Oman, and after that it will conclude its matches in the first group, against its Egyptian counterpart.
The Gulf Championship is the first foreign championship in which our national team participates after the establishment of the Iraqi Soka Federation for Mini Football Games, which is a preparatory station for the World Cup Championship that will also be held in Oman and the Asian Championship in Kazakhstan.
The head of the Iraqi Soka Federation for Mini Football Games, Jaafar Al-Sheikh, told the (INA) today, Wednesday: “The national team has completed its training camp in Sulaymaniyah Governorate, in order to raise the players’ readiness, before the start of the tournament, through which it seeks to represent the country in the best way and compete for the tournament title.”
It is noteworthy that our national team is in the first group, along with the teams of Oman, Qatar and Egypt.
