CRITICISM – Sophie Pigasse-Magnaud recounts in a book how she experienced this period of her life.

Sophie Pigasse-Magnaud had a life “dream”, in a wealthy family with loving parents. But “something is going to go wrong”she says thirty years later, in a book where she talks about her fight against anorexia.

Like many teenagers, Sophie eats with gusto and snacks between meals. Her older brothers make fun of her, tell her she’s as round as a ball. At the end of the third year, a doctor has some unfortunate words, the consequences of which he surely does not understand: “I find you a little plump, Sophie. You should lose a few pounds.” She then weighs 53 kg for 1.61 m, a completely normal build.

Returning from vacation with an American family where she gained a few pounds, Sophie is attracted by an advertisement for the Weight Watchers program.
