Gandhara is the sixth film to cross 100 crores in the world of Kannada cinema.
Most of the 100 crore grossing films in India are Hindi films. There are about 100 Hindi films that have grossed over 100 crores so far. As far as South India is concerned, only a few South Indian films have crossed the 100 crore mark. 30 films in Tamil, 10 to 15 films in Telugu and 7 films in Malayalam have crossed the 100 crore mark.
But there are very few Kannada films that cross the 100 crore mark. KGF was the first Kannada film to cross the one hundred crore mark. After that Vikrant Rona released this year. After this, films including James, 777 Charlie, KGF 2 are the films that crossed the 100 crore mark. In that line, the film Gandhara has crossed the hundred crore mark yesterday. This film was made as a very small film and now it has become a success to everyone’s surprise. It is noteworthy that five films released in Kannada cinema this year crossed the 100 crore mark.
