Another murder in the Arab sector: Bassam Amin Kablan, 40, was shot dead today (Friday) in Beit Jann in the Upper Galilee, and another person was seriously injured. Kablan is the brother of the former head of the Beit Jann council. The other wounded man, a 50-year-old man, was treated by medical staff, unconscious and suffering from a penetrating injury. Later, the wounded man was taken to the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya, where he was anesthetized and respirated. Police officers and detectives from the Northern District Police are at the scene of the incident, whose background is criminal, and have opened an investigation to ascertain its circumstances.

MDA paramedic Eran Friedlander said: “There was a lot of commotion at the place. We saw the two wounded who were unconscious and suffering from penetrating injuries. We immediately performed medical tests, one wounded man was without signs of life and we had no choice but to determine his death, and the other wounded man who was seriously injured was put to sleep in the field and taken to hospital when his condition was critical.

Violence in the Arab sector continues after a number of murders were recorded in June, including the murder of Muhammad Amash, 24, of Jasser a-Zarqa, who was shot while sitting in his vehicle near the football field in the village, and has become the 46th victim in the Arab sector since early 2022. Qassem Simri, 31, from the village of Jadeida, was shot dead near a school in his village, apparently due to a conflict between families. The bodies of 21-year-old Mahmoud and 15-year-old Ali, members of the Fahuri family from the city of Nazareth, were also found lifeless in the middle of the month in a car near Kiryat Tivon, with gunshot wounds on their bodies.
